If you've looked into buying a kilt for yourself or someone close to you, then you know this can be a major expense. If the expense is the only thing stopping you from displaying your Scots pride and you have or know someone with some sewing skills, why not make your own kilt? At Great Scot Shop, not only do we sell kilts and accessories, but we also sell rolls of tartan fabric so that you can make your own kilts, blankets, or clothes!

On our website, you can see samples of all of the colors and styles of tartan fabric we offer. Once you've decided which colors you want, click on the link marked "Yardage." There, you will find tartan ribbon and six different weights of tartan fabric from which to choose.

Depending on what you are making and how it will be used, the fabric weight you choose is important. If you're looking for a lighter weight, for a tablecloth or a lightweight kilt, you'll want to choose something different than if you're reupholstering a favorite couch in a tartan motif. No matter what weight you need, we can get it for you--and we're glad to consult with you on what weight is likely to serve your needs best.

All of our tartan yardage comes directly from Scotland and is 100 percent wool. Because it is coming from so far away (we don't keep yardage in-stock, as rolls of it can take up substantial room), remember to allow three to four weeks extra for delivery. But don't worry--the fabric you'll be getting is worth the wait. We have a lot of experience with Scottish textiles and crafts, and we are proud to carry items of high quality at the lowest possible prices.
